From this dive spot right at the airport you can do some excellent snorkeling, although you must be careful not to touch the fire coral. This is a fantastic spot for novice divers, there hardly is any flow. From this beach you can swim toward Eighteen Palms and probably encounter Blue Spotted cornet fish on your way, you won’t see them often around Bonaire. You will also see beautiful white and blue lettuce sea slugs.
You may enter the water at the end of the path with direction to the beach. The drop off starts at 16 feet and slowly drops to 92 feet. A lot of turtles and different types of ray swim here, and if you pay attention, you might encounter a small school of great barracuda which swims by regularly. On the plateau up to 49 feet you can find many huge sponges.
Do you want to visit Windsock? In Bonaire Dive Guide you can find more information and detailed directions. Convenient, as many dive sites on the North coast are off road and hard to find. The guide is also practical as a reference and safe: leaving your mobile phone in the car during a dive is not wise.
