This is a dive site and a landmark in Bonaire; the entrance is marked by ten small slave huts. You can best enter the water at the second house to the north, although walking is difficult even here, due to loose pieces of coral.
The shallow plateau is quite large with fine sand, the water is quite murky so with high waves it’s better to go to another dive site. At the end of the morning you will find many eagle rays on this plateau.
At 16 feet the growth of coral begins, at 26 feet it has become a dense forest of coral. From 46 feet starts a drop off with soft coral, up to 66 feet. From this place, sponges grow up to 121 feet. The best spot to dive is the sandy plateau and subsequent reef.
Do you want to visit White Slave? In Bonaire Dive Guide you can find more information and detailed directions. Convenient, as many dive sites on the South coast are off road and hard to find. The guide is also practical as a reference and safe: leaving your mobile phone in the car during a dive is not wise.
