In the middle of this dive is a ‘white hole’, a hole in the reef, probably caused by a meteorite. You can reach this spot by boat and from the side. The currents around the White Hole are often very strong, so you have to be experienced and have to have a good condition. Go into the water accompanied by a guide. It is safer and the guide knows the most beautiful spots.
The beautiful reef consists of hard corals and sea fans. Here you will find lots of small reef fish but also large rays and turtles. After the reef you cross a shallow sand plateau to the White Hole. The hole is as big as a football field and has a rock wall on one side. Here you will find lots of large fish. If you leave the White Hole and swim toward the shore, you will find a large plateau with soft coral. Here you will find lots of turtles.
Do you want to visit White Hole? In Bonaire Dive Guide you can find more information and detailed directions. Convenient, as many dive sites on the East coast are off road and hard to find. The guide is also practical as a reference and safe: leaving your mobile phone in the car during a dive is not wise.
