This dive site is unmarked and located between Sweet Dreams and the red slave huts. There is no beach but a dike of coral debris which runs steeply into the sea. On the other side of the road are salt pans. On the waterfront you will easily find the best way to walk into the water.
Near the end you will find a sandy bottom with some fabulous elk horn coral. On the shallow plateau you will mainly find soft corals and huge stag horn coral, with anemones behind it. This is a nice area for snorkelers.
The drop off is at 33 feet and runs steeply down to 131 feet, with a lot of hard coral. At the drop off are plenty of sergeant majors who fiercely defend their purple eggs, nice to watch! The reef is hilly and contains many soft and hard corals. You can also spot a few sponges.
Do you want to visit Soft Coral Garden? In Bonaire Dive Guide you can find more information and detailed directions. Convenient, as many dive sites on the South coast are off road and hard to find. The guide is also practical as a reference and safe: leaving your mobile phone in the car during a dive is not wise.
