This dive site is the first dive spot from the double reef on the south side of the island. At the left of the parking lot the reef is divided in two parts, while at the right is a single reef.
You can enter the water at the big rock on the side. The bottom is uneven, be careful not to fall, especially at the coral. At 11 feet the reef begins with soft coral, at 18 feet it turns into a real garden with lots of coral, sea horses and small reef fish.
The drop off starts at 36 feet and this is where the hard coral starts to grow, mixed with soft coral and sponges up to 131 feet. At the left of the parking lot the double reef starts at 69 up to 125 feet, after a sand channel. Here you will find the bigger fish.
Especially in the sun this dive spot is very nice, but watch out for current, especially in the deep!
Do you want to visit Punt Vierkant? In Bonaire Dive Guide you can find more information and detailed directions. Convenient, as many dive sites on the South coast are off road and hard to find. The guide is also practical as a reference and safe: leaving your mobile phone in the car during a dive is not wise.
