This dive site has a nice sandy beach, but that’s meant for guests of Lighthouse Beach Resort. You therefore need to enter the water from the site next to it, you have to step over a wall to go there.
The plateau immediately begins with soft coral. At 7 feet you’ll see a huge elkhorn coral on the left. From 20 feet the coral is a little more dense and you see a lot of stingrays. From 20 feet the bottom slopes down, the drop off begins at 39 feet. Here, the density and the variation in fish is enormous.
At around 53 feet the hard corals decrease again, but there are many sponges up to 115 feet. The flow may suddenly increase significantly here so this site is not suitable for novice divers.
Do you want to visit Lighthouse Point? In Bonaire Dive Guide you can find more information and detailed directions. Convenient, as many scuba dive sites on the South coast are off road and hard to find. The guide is also practical as a reference and safe: leaving your mobile phone in the car during a dive is not wise.
