This wreck dive site is a perfect place for novice divers. You can get there by jumping from the dock (the water is only 7 feet deep) and then follow the rope on the bottom.
At 46 feet depth, about 98 feet from the shore, you will find the wreck. It is a 46 feet long iron fishing boat lying upside down and it provides shelter to many different fish, especially the green moray and grouper. The wreck is not particularly beautiful but a nice object.
At 115 feet is another wreck, although it’s almost perished. It is home to a large grouper that does not like divers visiting. At the reef you will find large fish such as tarpon and great barracuda, at the jetty you often find an octopus.
Do you want to visit La Machaca? In Bonaire Dive Guide you can find more information and detailed directions. Convenient, as many dive sites on the North coast are off road and hard to find. The guide is also practical as a reference and safe: leaving your mobile phone in the car during a dive is not wise.
