This dive site is the house reef of Plaza Resort; you can use it all day for a $ 5.00 fee. The beach has palm trees, hammocks and sun beds, restaurants and swimming pools, so it’s a good site to do anything else in between! It is crowded, but surprisingly nice and the even flow is suitable for novice divers.
The reef starts slowly from 20 to 39 feet, but then abruptly drops off to 115 feet. There you will find stingrays and eagle rays. At the slightly elevated reef you will find smaller fish, squid, lobsters, crabs and shrimp, and if you look closely between the rocks you will probably find an octopus!
Do you want to visit Eighteen Palms? In Bonaire Dive Guide you can find more information and detailed directions. Convenient, as many dive sites on the South coast are off road and hard to find. The guide is also practical as a reference and safe: leaving your mobile phone in the car during a dive is not wise.
