This is a long, narrow sandy beach with shady trees, and it’s quite popular on weekends. The bottom of the sea is very uneven from the beginning, so you must be careful when you go into the water.
The plateau starts at 16 feet, the drop off at 33, and from there you can see beautiful coral formations, special sponges and lots of colorful fish. At the end of the reef, at around a 125 feet, are some special sponges and corals that are very fragile and, when touched, can really irritate.
You make the best dive between 33 and 66 feet, as most living creatures live here. The shallow end seems less beautiful, but you will find special fish there.
Do you want to visit Corporal Meiss? In Bonaire Dive Guide you can find more information and detailed directions. Convenient, as many dive sites on the North coast are off road and hard to find. The guide is also practical as a reference and safe: leaving your mobile phone in the car during a dive is not wise.
