This dive site is suitable for beginners and experienced divers and is only accessible by boat. The reef instantly starts at 16 feet and then steeply descends to 98 feet, where a sandy bottom begins. This is a good place to look for Caribbean stingrays, they’re often spotted here.
Unfortunately, the reef was quite damaged by Hurricane Lenny in 1999, but it’s recovering well. In the shallow area you can clearly hear the parrotfish taking bites out of the coral.
Do you want to visit Carel’s vision? In Bonaire Dive Guide you can find more information and detailed directions. Convenient, as many dive sites on the North coast are off road and hard to find. The guide is also practical as a reference and safe: leaving your mobile phone in the car during a dive is not wise.
